In 2026 we supported Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society (VCDS).

The Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society (VCDS) is a volunteer-based not-for-profit that provides
complimentary transportation to and from treatment for cancer patients in Greater Vancouver
and the Fraser Valley. This service is vital for patients who lack the means to travel
independently to their essential treatments.

VCDS is a registered charity and works year-round to raise the funds needed to provide over
46,000 patient trips annually. Their volunteers are on the road every weekday, providing on
average 180 trips daily for patients in 19 communities.

The organization was founded in 2016 on the belief that access to cancer treatment should not
be an additional emotional and financial burden for patients and their families to deal with
during the patient’s life-threatening journey. Since then, VCDS volunteers have driven nearly 6
million kilometres and have contributed 330,000 volunteer hours to provide 212,000 patient
trips to and from cancer treatment
